Why I do what I do, how I do it!

Tue Jan 31, 2006, 12:47 PM
I like to consider my illustrations as just what they are "illustrations, but also magnificent works of art, because of their design content. My illustrations aren’t necessarily standard "art drawings" so I am not the least bit worried about how the public would view my work. What I’m more interested in is how my audience interprets my illustrations; which would be as a whole body of work. A cohesive body of work is dyer before putting it all out there into the world, because you are reflecting upon yourself, and all of the things in life that inspire and represent you. So lets say you concentrate on a certain object to represent a piece of artwork, or an entire portfolio, lets say that object is a comb? Right? Anyone can feature a comb as an object of focus! But its what you take from that comb, how you’ve shaped that comb into your individual experiences and into your process of creating. How you interpret it for the rest of the world to see is the ultimate test of your true ability to be an imaginative artist and should be your only concern. "Art is crap"! But imagination is the world in which we live in. Innovative thinking and loyalty to ones earthly findings. Which brings me to one other humane factoid. People do copy. But people who copy just for the sake of getting a rise out of their audience from someone else’s creativity have no imagination. And have so called artwork that probably relies on copying, restrictions and blatant sources of inspirations. ALSO CRAP! Notice your work looks like shit when you try to include every element of visual aesthetics from a picture that is digitally enhanced, because theirs no way in hell that you did it, and thought of it simultaneously, and everyone else knows it, they just don’t say anything. If you just want to conform, and prove that you can copy? Then you disagree. I want you to Imagine being.... Imagine seeing ... Love is Imagining and imagining is love. So imagine loving what you do for the rest of your life, man you’d go down as the most imaginative person on earth! You cannot plan gods brush strokes, he is random, and continues to take away and add to his artwork, so why would you ruin the element of surprise in your own work of art, your life’s story? Spontaneity is key to being an everlasting memory in any one persons mind.

Dear journal: My thought of the day is: “ God is a visionary, and will not create the same people twice neither will he create the same world twice”
